BACULANTA, Pedrito Born on January 18, 1917 in Cebu City, Philippines, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 23, 2016 in Lancaster, Calif. He graduated from Adamson University in Manila. Pedrito was a World War II Veteran. He joined the Philippines Scouts and was a member of the US Army from May 1941 to March 1945. He fought on Bataan and somewhere on the Death March he was able to escape the Japanese. After the war he worked for the San Miguel Corp for 25 years. He became a citizen in 1981 and lived in Lancaster for 37 years. He loved to read, walk and spend time with family and friends. Pedrito is survived by his wife, Amparo Baculanta, sons; Jay, Ric and Pedrito Baculanta, daughters; Nida (Greg) Stirling, and Janet (Mike) Ginsberg, grandchildren; Geoffrey, Matthew, Jasmine, Noah, Lory, Elmer, and Erwin. Viewing will be held on April 1, 2016 from 1p.m. - 3p.m. and service from 3p.m. - 5p.m. at Joshua Memorial Park 808 East Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, Calif. 93535.
