BEEM Elizabeth Lis Frances
BEEM, Elizabeth 'Liz' Frances 75, passed on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Bakersfield. She is survived by her children, Gene Nutt, Pamela Nutt-Clayton, Jerry Nutt, Michelle Edwards, Michael Adams, and Shawna LaRosa; her siblings, Frankie Shultz, Goldie Lundvall, and Lillian Ackord; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in 1940 in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Lloyd Lester Shultz and Hazel Frances Rice, she spent most of her life in Lancaster, Calif. She served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1961. She dedicated 28 years to the United States Postal Service, serving as the first female employee of the Lancaster Post Office. A strong-spirited woman, Liz raised six children on her own. She loved her soaps and was an avid blackjack player. She was ahead of her time in the field of medicine, advocating for the healing powers of vinegar, garlic, and gin-soaked raisins. She was an excellent seamstress and upholsterer, and she loved Joel Osteen. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster.
