ANDERSON, Elvir Sonny
ANDERSON, Elvir 'Sonny' March 2, 1934-Feb. 12, 2015 Sonny passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., from Alzheimer's related complications. He was just short of his 81st birthday. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and raised in Tehama, Neb. Sonny successfully owned and operated the Old Mill Masonry and Town and Country Masonry in Lancaster, Calif. He retired in 1987 to the Redlands in Grand Junction, Colo. His greatest joy in life was his retirement to Colorado where he lived a comfortable life on his Redlands Ranch, with his cows and his beloved dog, Buffy. He loved hunting, NASCAR and his two best friends, Ron Tipping and Humberto Anchondo. Sonny is survived by his twin sister Dolly Stell of Ark.; daughters, Chris Montgomery of Ore. and Karen Mason of Wash.; sons, Daniel and Jack both from Calif.; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by Brent Constable and family of Fruita, Colo. A very special Thank you to his caregivers and friends at Comfort Care in Grand Junction, Colo., Jill, Angela Carman and Christina. Sonny was a very special man who loved his life in Colorado, his friends and family. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Sonny requested no services. Donations may be made to The Make a Wish Foundation in Sonny's name.
