HEUPEL, Clifford
HEUPEL, Clifford 'Cliff' Born June 23, 1925 to Christian and Martha Heupel in Long Lake, S.D. He spent his childhood in the Long Lake/Leola area. He worked in farming until he was drafted into the Army in 1946. He served till 1947 and then went to Mechanic School in Aberdeen, S.D. He met his wife, Alvina and married in 1948. He worked as a mechanic for many years. His first child was added in 1949. In 1952, he moved his family to California where he lived for 46 years. He managed a 'Flying A' Gas Station in Lodi, Calif., then adding a 2nd child. They moved to Coachella, Calif. In 1961, he worked as a mechanic and then became a repairman for Sears Roebuck for 9 1/2 years. In 1969, twins were added to the family and he moved them back to Lodi. He retired from the City of Lodi. He mvoed back to Leola, making a full circle in 1994. In 2005, he returned to Aberdeen to complete his life adventures and later returned to Lancaster, Calif., in 2011 to be near family. Cliff had been an active member in Eagles and the Legion throughout his lifetime. He attended the Desert Vineyard Church in Lancaster. He was also one of the responsible members of the Heupel Family Reunions. Working with his brother, Art and others to help put the family reunion together once a year! He loved to fish and never missed a baseball game thru being an armchair sports fan. The Center of his life being his loving family. Beloved husband of Alvina; father of Jeannie (Rick) McQuown, Rick (Judy) Heupel, Jeffrey (Donna) Heupel and JoAnn Heupel. He also had 3 brothers and 5 sisters, Roy ( Alma) Heupel, Art (Leda) Heupel, Elmer (Myrdis) Heupel, Lorene (Walter) Bertsch, Alice (Corkey) Smith, Ruth (Ed) Walth, Eldora (Ken) Meidinger, and Marsha (Harvey) Mohr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Martha Heupel; his brothers, Roy and Elmer, and his sisters, Alice and Lorene, and his son, Jeffrey. Visitation will be from 3-5 pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 with a Funeral Service at 10 am, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 both at Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations, with interment at Bakersfield Natinal Cemetery, Arvin, Calif. at 12:30 pm. Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations of Lancaster, (Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home of Aberdeen) have been entrusted with the arrangements.
