ENGLERT, Lillian
ENGLERT, Lillian Sept. 7, 1925 - March 2, 2014 Lillian Englert went to sing and rejoice with her Lord on March 2, 2014 in Lancaster, California. Strong woman that she was, the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and congestive heart failure did not overtake her until recently. Born in 1925 in Caldwell, Ohio, she moved to Los Angeles, California in 1945. Her love of the desert kept her in the Antelope Valley from 1964 to 2014. Much of that time she lived in Leona Valley where she was a devoted member of Leona Valley Community Church since 1974. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Jim Englert, her parents, two brothers, a sister and an infant daughter. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and John McDonald of Oregon and step-son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Cecelia Englert of South Carolina. There are six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who will miss this dear woman's love. Lillian worked much of her life, always having something to do with 'figures and numbers'. Her main career was at AV Ready Mix from 1964 until she retired. Not to be idle, she worked a few years at KGG Electric in Quartz Hill until she retired again. A long-time member of the Antelope Valley Emblem Club #76, she will be remembered by many residents as the woman always in the Emblem Club Taco Booth at the Antelope Valley Fair. She so enjoyed all her friends and the charitable activities involved with Emblem. If that didn't keep her busy enough, she was active in Lancaster Woman's Club, the Sierra-Cahuenga District of California Federation of Women's Clubs and recently Women of the Moose. A Celebration of Lillian's Life will be held at 11 am, Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Lancaster Elks Club BPOE #1625, 240 East Avenue K, Lancaster, 93535; (661) 942-1625. Attendees are invited to the luncheon reception to follow the memorial. Lillian would be pleased if donations were made in her memory to Leona Valley Community Church, 9306 Leona Avenue, Leona Valley, CA 93551.
