HUTH, Florence Edna Harper
HUTH, Florence Edna Harper Born March 18, 1928, passed away Dec. 20, 2013, was a devoted mother and wife. She leaves a loving son Michael and is predeceased by son Gary and husband Robert. Settling in Palmdale in 1963, she worked for the Palmdale School District for 17 years. Born in Manila, Philippines, occupied by the Japanese from 1941-1945. She and her nine siblings and parents, Edgar and Maria Dolores Harper, were imprisoned in Santo Tomas and Los Banos. Her sister Mildred was killed during their rescue. She settled with family in Selma in the San Joaquin Valley in 1945. Came from a pioneering family from Missouri through Texas that settled in Porterville. Survived by sister Grace Penn of Meridian, Idaho, brother David Harper of Fresno, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. She was interred at the Selma District Cemetery on Dec. 23, 2014 and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
