BAKUSES, Peter N Born March 24, 1924 in South Bend, Ind., passed away January 3, 2014 in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., where he lived for 50 years. He went to Purdue State University. He was a automatic rifleman in the U.S. Army, during World War II. Peter was a aerospace engineer, a restaurant owner (best apple fritters), fireman, bus driver and worked for Cal Trans. Peter was a mountain man, he loved to fish, hunt, and snow ski, he hiked and rode his bicycle all over the world. He had many stories to tell and brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. He left us with a gift of laughter. Peter will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Love you Peter, RIP daddy. Peter is survived by his daughter, Athena; granddaughter, Shaunna; grandson, Matthew; his dog Nikki; a nephew, Nickos; a niece, Tina, and cousins, Achiles Anton, lil Pete, Becky and many other cousins and friends from Ind., Ill., Wis., Calif., and Greece. A Memorial will be held at noon, February 1, 2014 at Mammoth Christian Fellowship, 1600 Meridian Blvd., Mammoth, officiated by Pastor Mark Smith.
