GILLILAND, Wol Sun
GILLILAND, Wol Sun Born on January 7, 1930 in Hukuoka, Japan. Wol Sun was raised and educated in Japan, and later the family moved back to Seoul, Korea. Wol Sun passed away December 10, 2013 in Palmdale, Calif. Wol Sun learned English and became a U.S. Citizen in 1969. She was elected Ambassador at Encino Presbyterian Church in Encino. She was a Cosmetologist and Beautician, graduating from Marinello School of Beauty, Los Angeles in 1960. She began her career at the Geisha Girl in Encino and later attended Barbering College in Los Angeles and opened her own salon in 1970 'Sunis Hairstyling & Barbering Salon' in Encino. Wol Sun retired at age 65, to start a oil painting career. Wol Sun was the 3rd oldest of 7 children. She is predeceased by her parents Song Do Chong and Bun Dan Kim; sisters and brother, Tae Sun Chong and II Song Chong and Sin Sun Chong. Wol Sun is survived by her children: Kenneth L. Gilliland, Donna A. Gilliland, and Dora B. Gilliland; grandchildren: John R. Lopez, Devin K. Gilliland, Veronika-Lee Gilliland, Angelo R. Tepedino, Ryan A. Gilliland, Connor J. Gilliland and Markus A. Gilliland; great-grandchildren: Destiny C. Gilliland, Judah R. Lopez, Israel I. Lopez, Ryan A. Gilliland, Jr., and Annabelle L. Lopez. She is also survived by her brother and sisters: II Su Chong, Hae Su Chong and Jome Su Chong. Services will be Private Family viewing and Burial at Sea, Newport Beach, Calif. Halley Olsen Murphy , Palmdale, CA
