BARBOA, Romulo (Ron)
BARBOA, Romulo (Ron) A resident of Lancaster, Calif. since 1989, passed away at the age of 84 in Antelope Valley Hospital on Friday, Dec 6, 2013 with his wife of nearly 61 years by his side. Romulo was born in Los Padillas, N.M., and in 1955 he moved to Calif. Romulo was an Army Veteran, enlisting at the age of 15, and served in World War II. Attending night school at Santa Monica City College he became a licensed electrician in Los Angeles, a profession he enjoyed throughout his life. Ron's immediate surviving family members include his beloved wife, Maria, sons Ramon Barboa and wife Cheryl, Joseph, Russell Sr. and daughters, Claudia Quisenberry and husband Michael, and Cheryle Gildner, whose husband Brian preceded Ron in death in 2009. Ron raised two grandchildren as his own, Teresa and Russell Barboa Jr. Ron was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, Calif. on Monday December 16, 2013 at 11 am. Family is asking for donations to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
