ROSE, Whitford (Whit)
ROSE, Whitford (Whit) Was born July 10, 1925, in Oshkosh, Wis. to Alvin and Della Rose. He passed away August 25, 2013, at the age of 88 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The family moved to Lancaster when he was 5 years old. He graduated from Antelope Valley High in 1943. He then enlisted in the US Marine Corps serving from 1943-1946, some of it in the South Pacific area during World War II. He retired from So Cal. Edison after 38 years in Dec. 1988. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melba Rose. Also a daughter Tawny and two grand daughters that he cherished, Heather and Melissa, all of Lancaster. Also survived by two brothers, Warren (Cork) Rose and wife Peggy of Lancaster, Wesley (Wes) Rose of Port Angeles, Wash. Two Nieces, one Nephew. Whit was a lifetime member of Lancaster Elks Lodge #1625, 240 East Ave K, Lancaster, where a service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 21, 2013, at 11:30 a.m.
