SCHETTIG, Lynn Ann Roesinger
SCHETTIG, Lynn Ann Roesinger 60, of Stallion Springs passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a 2 1/2 year battle with lymphoma. Born in Midwest City, Okla., she soon moved to Canoga Park, Calif. At age 11, Lynn moved to Lancaster and helped her family build and operate Rancho Sierra Golf Course. She graduated from AV High School, AV College and Cal. State Northridge. Her teaching career spanned 25 years where she profoundly impacted the lives of many students and also served as a mentor to other teachers. She and her beloved husband Jim Schettig met while they were both teaching 7th grade at Park View. They had a double wedding with sister Donna Roesinger and Dennis King in 1978. Lynn adored her two children, Kevin James (Julie Liu) of Sherman Oaks, and Katherine Ann of Washington D.C., and her granddaughter Stella Lynn was the light of her life. She always spoke of her family with such pride and joy. Her favorite hobby since retirement has been creating scrapbooks, which are such treasures. She also loved traveling, nature, reading, decorating and photography. Lynn also leaves behind nieces Amy Lynn King, Jill Denise King and great nephew Jayden White, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and adoring friends. Her father, John McCann Roesinger, and her mother, Helen Arlene Webber Roesinger, preceded her in death. Lynn's niece Jill began a beautiful support group called 'Lynn's Loving Army' where over 100 family and friends wore personalized purple wrist bands to offer strength and serenity to Lynn. This support helped her through some very difficult times. A Celebration of Lynn's life will be held at the Hellenic Center in Lancaster at 11 a.m., June 2, 2012. RSVP to lynnscelebration@yahooo.com and/or send a memory message there. The family asks that any donations be sent to the Lancaster Education Foundation in Lynn's name to 44711 Cedar Ave. Lancaster, CA 93534.
