MCKAY, Thomas Hill
MCKAY, Thomas Hill Born on December 2, 1928, in Los Angeles, California, to William and Palmyre McKay. He passed away on March 2, 2012, peacefully in his home in Tehachapi, California, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and Lee, and step-daughter, Deborah Witczak. Thomas served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Aviation Photo Technician and was honorably discharged. Tom worked in the field of aviation for over 30 years. The majority of his career was at Lockheed, where he was a member of the Skunk Works team. Thomas' interests included traveling, working in his workshop, reading, photography, the history of trains; and he also enjoyed spending time with his family. Thomas is survived by Nancy, his loving wife of 31 years; and his children, Shelby (Roy) Cheek, Sharon (Harry) Friend, Sandy (Ray) Lilienthal, Alex McGary, Carmen McKay, Thomas (Kathleen) McKay, April (Greg) Dudsic, Jullie (Greg) Haley, Mike (Tammy) Gamby, and Dawn (Jack) Orr. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services to be held at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery - Eastside, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in his name to Optimal Hospice Foundation, 1315 Boughton Dr., Bakersfield, CA 93308; or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090- 6011. Wood Family Funeral Service handling the arrangements.
