HELTSLEY, RICHARD ELLIS
HELTSLEY, Richard Elli s One of the good guys left us January 10, 2012, to be with our Heavenly Father. Richard was born on February 21, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana. He married the love of his life Rita Marlene Hardesty at the age of 17 years old. He served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1961. In 1962, Richard moved his family from Indiana to California to provide a better life for them. He went to work at U.S. Borax in 1963, and retired after 39 years of service. His hobbies were spending as little money as possible, hunting, fishing, restoring old cars, and spending time with his friends and family. Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother, Laymon and Ruth Heltsley, his sisters Lelia (Nell), and Edna. Heis survived by one sister Mildred (Midge) and one brother Tommy. His wonderful wife Marlene of 56 years, his three children Rhonda, Melana, and Tony. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two of which he has been raising as his own (Tonya and Anthony), and 8 great-grandchildren. There will be a Memorial service at 5:30 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012, at First Southern Baptist Church, 17201 Lorraine Avenue North Edwards, CA 93523. Richard was loved and respected by so many people in the community. He brought joy to so many people. He will be missed greatly, but he will always remain in our minds and our hearts. We love you grandpa.
