DUNN, CATHRYN BROTHERS
DUNN, Cathryn Brothers 88, died August 29, 2011, in her daughters home in Moreno Valley, California. She was born June 23, 1923, in Sanford, Colorado to William Christensen Brothers and Vera May Shawcroft, the first of two children. She married Loyd Jensen Dunn on May 28, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 2010, after sharing 69 years together. Cathryn was a homemaker her whole married life. She also worked nights in a hospital while her husband was serving in Canada on an LDS mission during the Korean War. Cathryn returned to work as a special education aide for ten years while her children were attending college. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cathryn was a loving mother. A visit to her home included a tour of the picture wall of her family. She made quilts for her grandchildren. She enjoyed a good laugh.She is survived by eight children; Vera (Vern) Olivier of Broomfield, Colorado; Jerry (Jeanie) Dunn of Lancaster; Carol (Von deceased) Richardson of Moreno Valley; Bob (Pam) Dunn of Lancaster; Joe (LeeAnn) Dunn of Lancaster; Terry (Louise) Dunn of Alturas, California; Lori (Nelson) Peacock of Vista, California; and Kim (Carlos) Castillo of Moreno Valley. The couple has 40 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William (Ella) Brothers of Provo, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2011, at the Lancaster East Stake Center, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 44330 North 27th Street East (just off East Avenue J) in Lancaster. There will be a viewing preceding the funeral at 12 noon at the church. Interment will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Joshua Memorial Park.
