WICKLINE, EMMA (NEE BARG)
WICKLINE, Emma (nee Barg) 95, of Las Cruces is at home with her Lord. She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010. She had been living in Las Cruces, N.M., with her daughter and son-in-law. Emma had a long and happy life and will be remembered for her love of God, Family, Friends and Country. She was a lifelong Lutheran. She enjoyed her home where she spent many hours in her garden and with family and friends and was an avid sports fan with a special passion for her Nebraska Cornhuskers and LA Dodgers. She was born at home in Ponca, Neb., May 5, 1915. She married Lewis Wickline, on July 12, 1942. Emma was the consummate homemaker keeping the family together, happy and comfortable. She gave to her community by sharing her time and talents with her church congregations, the American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts of America, Republican Party and Senior Citizens. Emma was a founding member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Calif., and the Rosamond Senior Citizens in Rosamond, Calif. Emma is survived by a daughter, Jacalyn Lee (Wickline) Ryberg and her husband Jan of Las Cruces, N.M.; grandchildren, Michelle (Andrew) Patterson of Las Cruces, N.M., and Chad (Jaime) Ryberg of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; great-granddaughters, Emmalee Patterson and Kaitlyn Ryberg; and sister, Elsie Gladhart of Hawthorne, Calif. Preceding her in death were her husband, Lewis Jackson Wickline; daughter, Bette Louise Wickline; brother, Joe Barg; and her parents, Karl Heinrich and Louise Carolina (Buettner) Barg. A Memorial Service to celebrate Emmas life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Joshua Memorial Park, 808 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, Calif., officiated by Rev. Bill Vaughn.
