LANE, PENNY LYNN
LANE, Penny Lynn Born March 12, 1948, in Ogden, Utah. After battling the results and after-effects of cancer for twelve years, Penny passed away October 20, 2010, at the Country Villa Sheraton Care Center in North Hills, Calif. Her husband Dan, was with her at the time. She went to Van Nuys High School. She has lived in the Antelope Valley for 38 years where she was a legal secretary, principals secretary, special ed instructional aid. She was very active at her church and was in charge of the weekly church program. She enjoyed calligraphy; tole painting and reading. She was a longtime Board Member at Park View Little League as a secretary and in charge of the snack bar. Secretary for District 51 Little League. At Lancaster High School she was the President of girls soccer, Treasurer Booster Club (Softball and Baseball). She was actively involved with the Lancaster Kaiser Cancer support group. Survived by her husband Dan Lane, son Justin Lane of Provo, Utah, daughter Lyndsey Meyer (Jeffrey) of Draper, Utah, step-sons John Lane (LaDona) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, James Lane of Salem, Oregon, step-daughter Pamela Lane of Lancaster, Calif., grandchildren Shaun, Joseph, Tylene, Danielle, Shelby, Oleg and Teresa, great-grandchildren D.J., Jordan, and Mina, sister Jolene Merriam (Jack), mother-in-law Ella Louise Lane of Lancaster, 4 cousins, 1 aunt and uncle, numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her parents Edward and Marjorie Houghton, maternal grandparents Della Davis and Guy Peterson, paternal grandparents Thelma Seager and Clarence Houghton, sister Kristy Rankell. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1701 Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster. Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, Calif. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Pennys name.
