LANE, SANDRA SANDY ARLENE CONR
LANE, Sandra 'Sandy' Arlene Conrad Sunrise: February 19, 1947 Sunset September 8, 2010 Sandy was born February 19, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Elmer and Arlene Conrad her surviving parents and she departed this life on September 8, 2010. Sandy grew up in the Palmdale/Lancaster area, and married her sweetheart Mr. Gary Lane in 1982. To their union, one child was born Scott Lane. Sandy was a loving wife and mother, and she spent many hours with her family and friends. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who came to know her. Sandy made it a daily habit to keep the streets of her neighborhood clean and often would pick up stray animals that had been abandoned and cared for them until they could be taken to an animal shelter or she would give them a home herself. Sandy, had a favorite past time which the neighbors all remember fondly, she would trim the Pear tree in her yard to a twig and each year, it would return full and blooming with life. This was Sandy Lane! She enjoyed her husband, her son, and working with her hands. She also cherished her parents whom she lovingly cared for and made sure they were properly taken care of. Sandy would often spend her free time as a volunteer at the Lancaster animal shelter and the shelter will honor her with a plaque and a tree planted in her memory. Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Gary Lane and their special needs son Scott who she devoted her life to, one brother, Richard Conrad and one sister Bonnie Witten, and a host of nieces and nephews relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Palmdale Moose lodge, 3101 E Ave Q. Please dress casual to attend. Overseer Dr. DiAnn Walker, Sandy's long time friend will conduct the services. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to her favorite organization, The Lancaster Animal Shelter.
