BOYD, LORETTA MAE
BOYD, Loretta Mae Born December 3, 1933, in Burbank, California. Passed away September 10, 2010, in Lancaster, Calif. Loretta began grammar school in California. At the age of 10 the family moved to a farm in Kansas where she was enrolled in a 1 room school house. She graduated from high school in Uniontown, Kansas. After the completion of high school Loretta married Dale her childhood sweetheart in 1951. Loretta and Dale came to Lancaster, California in 1959. The family business Dales Alignment and Brake Shop was where Loretta assisted with secretarial and financial aspects of the business. She was a true 1950s mom, always sacrificing for the good of others. Loretta was a talented vocalist who enjoyed singing at many occasions. She sang in her churchs praise and worship team. Lorettas ability for sewing was known to many. She made most of her childrens clothes; always there to make sure that their needs were met before her own. Loretta loved to cook and bake. Whenever someone was ill, she would make them soup, desserts and offer them support and comfort. She possessed a true servants heart for giving. On May 9, 2010, Loretta and Dale celebrated 59 years of marriage. Joy, laughter, travel and friendships were made during their many years celebrated as husband and wife. Survived by her husband Dale, children Russell, Charlene Padgett (Roy), Lorraine Derryberry, Gloria Boyd-ODell (Patrick) and Julie Lindgren, grandchildren, Selina, Israel, Jacob, Troy, Nicole, Natalie, Steven, Scott, Caleb, Cody, Joshua and Benjamin, great-grandchildren is currently at 17 with more to come. Viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Mumaw Funeral Home, 44663 N. Date Ave, Lancaster, Calif. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Living Way Foursquare Church, 43260 Challenger Way, Lancaster, Calif.
