BARGER, DOROTHY BEA
BARGER, Dorothy 'Bea Passed away on September 5, 2010. She was born in April 1920, in Houston, Texas, the only child of Alexander Whitaker Ayres (also know as Sonny Ayres) and Sue Amanda Ayres. Married Lt. Thomas Jordan Barger in June 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by three children, Bonnie Lee Barger, Betty F. Ottenhoff and Thomas J. Barger, Jr. After her husband retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1955, they purchased a farm in Farson, Wyoming, where they resided until 1966. They then moved to Lancaster, California. Bea worked at the Lancaster office of the L.A. County Department of Public Social Services for ten years, retiring in 1982. She continued to reside in Lancaster until her death. In addition to her three children, she is survived by six grandchildren, Robert, Stacy, Trevor, Laurie, Lisa and Kevin, and five great-grandchildren, Blake, Amanda, Liam, Carter and Abigail. Bea was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for forty years until she could no longer attend due to her deteriorating health. She was a Life Master, American Contract Bridge League. There will be a private family service.
