BURK, LOWELL
BURK, Lowell 84, passed in his sleep July 30, 2010. The light of his life is his wife Jean, and sons Steve Buffalo and Keith and Ron Burk, as well as grandkids Brent, Abby, Misty, Adam and Tiffani. Born in Indiana, Lowell served as an army paratrooper in the Invasion of Normandy and shouldered a bazooka in the Battle of the Bulge. He served in the U.S. Air Force and helped build the secret XB-70 at EAFB. He was well liked as a manager at Sav-On Drugs. Following the loss of son Keith in 1970, Lowell and Jean moved to Thousand Oaks and started Fabrics Plus. Lowell was much loved by friends and family. "He was the best husband you could ever ask for." said Jean. He attended Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. His service with honor guard is 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 7 , 2010, at Lancaster Cemetery.
