FAVERO, VALENTINE
FAVERO, Valentine Born in Bakersfield, Calif., on March 6, 1919. His family moved to Mojave in September 1921, where he grew up with his two brothers, Gaspare and Louie. Val passed away from pneumonia on March 21, 2010, at AV Hospital, at the age of 91 years old. He worked as a conductor for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years and retired April 1, 1980. He loved his job and was just a few days short of 30 years in retirement. Val was married to his wife, Pat, for over 35 years. His favorite vacation was spent fishing on Table Rock Lake in the Missouri Ozarks. He was a wonderful husband and well liked by all who got to know him as a friend. Val is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat and brother Louie and wife, Dorothy, as well as several nieces and nephews. Our lives will be so empty without him. We all love you, 'Babe' A Visitation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010, with Funeral Services being held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010, both at Stickel Mortuary Chapel, 2201 Inyo St., Mojave. Graveside services immediately following at Mojave Public Cemetery, 2040 Belshaw, Mojave. Any condolences may be sent c/o Stickel Mortuary. Please honor him by signing his 'Memory Book'.
